    Description

    Vintage HP 12C Financial Calculator
I will miss this calculator.  Nowadays I only use it to do my taxes and then mostly I use the random number generator.  Haha, just kidding Mr. IRS Special Agent Man.
Anyway, no one who will inherit my personal belongings knows how to operate a RPN calculator.  Someone who can appreciate how to do math without an equal sign should own this.
    Case included.
Extra set of 357 batteries included.
    S/N 2207A07537
Purchased in early 1982 by me for Business School.  Cost over 0 new if memory serves.
Box long gone.  Books(2) sold about 15 years ago on eBay.
Works, but it has some quirks.
Occasionally, I have to apply a bit more pressure on the "1" key to get it to work.  No doubt I wore it out tabulating all my one dollar tips from my stripper pole days.  Just kidding, Mr. IRS Special Agent Man.
I also must be wearing out the on/off button.  Occasionally, it doesn't want to turn on.  So I replace the batteries and voila, it works.  Then, I take the new batteries out, put the old ones back in, and it also works.  There is a word for this phenomenon but it escapes me.
Lately, it has been persnickety about turning off.  Again, I take out the batteries, and after a few minutes to let the capacitors discharge, the display goes blank.  Then I put the old batteries in, and it works fine.
Is it on strike?  Perhaps I have a poltergeist?
Only two of the rubber feet remain.  The white piece of tape on the back reads, "357" so I can remember what type of batteries to buy.
    Well used, well loved.
