Throughout their 40 year career, Iron Maiden has sold over 100 million albums and played more than 2000 live concerts, making them one of the most influential and successful heavy metal bands to come out of the UK! Their first album to top the UK charts, "The Number of the Beast," was released in 1982 and is widely known as one the greatest heavy metal albums of all time. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of this classic album, the 2022 Silver Iron Maiden was struck with the original album cover art on the reverse face of the coin!
Struck by Germany's Mayer Mint and released on behalf of the Cook Islands as legal tender, this coin has a face value of . Each coin was struck with an impressive Obsidian Black finish from one troy ounce of highly pure .999 fine silver. The coin bears a fully colorized original design of the bands, "The Number of the Beast" album cover on its reverse face. The album cover features Iron Maiden's famous mascot, Eddie, appearing as the puppet master of the Beast while fire rages from the ground. This bright colors of the design have a striking contrast against the black obsidian finish, further enhancing the appeal of the coin. The obverse features the portrait of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II, encircled by inscription of her name, the country of issue, and the denomination.
Each coin will arrive housed in an acrylic holder in its original mint packaging accommodated by the Certificate of Authenticity. Appropriately, this 2022 Cook Islands 1oz Silver Iron Maiden has been limited to a worldwide low mintage of just 1982 pieces!
