    Description

Item up for sale is the original and complete (32 page,) September 9th, 1971, edition of the New York Daily Mirror, newspaper; the lead story of the day was of the indictment of 8 and the arrests of 7 members of the Jewish Defense League in New York City. The seven were arrested on various charges in a plot to destroy properties in Glen Cove L.I., belonging to the Soviet Mission to the United Nations, and in Manhattan, where the Russian Trade Agency was located at 355 Lexington Avenue. In the case of Amtorg, the Russian Trade Agency, the location had actually been bombed on April 22nd, of that same year, when an attache case was left on a fire exit landing, causing part of the 19th floor ceiling to collapse. There were no reported injuries. This newspaper is in good condition, described above, and is suitable for framing. The newspaper is a time capsule into the often violent mid 1960's and early 70's when bombings were frequent.
