Tea Pot or Kettle Stand
This Antique Victorian Teapot or Kettle Stand dates from c.1860 and is made from solid Cast Brass. I purchased this many years ago in Glasgow, Scotland at auction and it was made either there or in England in the middle 1800's.
I have not polished this trivet - it is in as found condition (I usually leave my brass unpolished - just personal taste). If you wanted to polish it up like they normally do in England and take off all the aged patina and tarnish, this would really shine!! I have taken pictures inside as well as outside; if you don't want to use this as a teapot stand for your High tea, you could use it outside, and it would tarnish and make a great plant stand - this is very versatile!
It measures 10 3/4 inches long by 8 1/4 inches wide and 5 3/4 inches tall.
Condition: This is in good original condition - No dents or dings or bad tarnish. The legs are blacksmith hammered into the top, not screwed in (that's how you can tell this is an early one!); some of the legs turn a little in their sockets and the stand is still solid and very usable - amazing for 160 years old!
