Derby Pattern 733 Cobalt Gold Grape Pattern Heart Shaped Porcelain Dish 1806-25PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE PURCHASING OR MAKING AN OFFER.
Early Derby soft paste porcelain heart shaped dish. Decorated with a cobalt blue and gold grape vine pattern. With gold gilding along the edge. Possibly pattern 733. The cup and saucer example of this pattern that was listed on the Old Derby Porcelain Teawares website has a gold band through the center of the pattern, which this does not. Marked on the bottom with the hand painted red crown over an X and D mark. This mark painted in red was used by Derby between 1806 and 1825.
Has a large chip to the edge at the top of the heat, overall crazing typical of British porcelain, overall patchy staining of the type that may soak out, a star/spider hairline to the base, a 1 inch tight crack to the edge, and two small stacking flakes to the foot rim.
Measures approximately 10 1/8 inches long x 8 1/8 inches wide x 1 3/8 inches tall.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
