These are often referred to as "Swift Clips" and are used, amongst other things, to adapt a chest rig to a compatible plate carrier or vest. A popular example would be adapting a Haley Strategic or Spiritus Systems chest rig to a Crye JPC
. These are the tan (close to Magpul FDE) color, which is lighter than coyote brown, and usually comes on multicam or ranger green equipment.
