    Description

Offered for sale, a lot of four Hakata dolls.  One of the dolls has two original labels attached.  One says, "Made in Japan," and the other one says, "Mitsukoshi ... .00."  Another doll has a "Made in Japan" label attached.  All have green felt on the bottom.  Mitsukoshi is a well-known Japanese department store that was founded in 1673, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.  They do have a store location at Walt Disney World, Epcot, Orlando, Florida.  The dolls are made of porcelain bisque--that is, not glazed.  They are all playful children dressed in various pieces of brightly-colored traditional clothing, each with different poses and/or accessories.  As mentioned, one of the dolls has three chips--the doll holding a fan.  One of the chips is on the base; one, under and at edge of fan, and the last one is at the base, same side as fan.  I will be happy to provide other photographs of any of the dolls; I was limited to 12 and wanted to show the chips.  I have shown all but one chip.  The dolls are in very good condition otherwise--that is, no chips to any of the other three.  They had a cursory cleaning by me using baking soda and light rubbing; there might be a stray mark here and there, but they can probably be removed.  Left to discretion of the buyer.  They present very well as-is.  I acquired these at a collectibles store at Marco Island, Florida.  I assume they were originally purchased as a lot, but I have no knowledge of ownership history.  They each measure approximately 4" in height; 4" in width; 2" in depth, with slight differences among them depending on pose, et cetera.
