Pure 24-karat gold plating highlights the tremendous variety of creatures that inhabit the Land Down Under, impressively render in the native Australian aboriginal style of the Dreamtime, on
    this HUGE,
ULTRA LOW MINTAGE (only 500), high relief, 5 troy ounce pure silver proof!
This is, quite simply, one of the most stunning wildlife coins we have ever seen! It commemorates the Aboriginal Australian's Dreamtime and their magnificent 40,000-year-old relationship with nature.
Many fascinating creatures inhabit Australia’s skies, land and waters - and these form the focal points of this coin’s stunning design. Acclaimed indigenous Australian artist John Smith Gumbula has incorporated a dozen different native animals (each highlighted in pure, 24 karat gold plating) in this traditional Australian Dreamtime work of art. A member of the Wakka Wakka and Yolngu peoples from South Burnett, Queensland, John has a flair for fine detail and rich texture - elements which both translate perfectly to the world of high relief coin design. The result is a magnificent showcase of Australia - its animals, its indigenous art, and a 40,000-year-old culture.
My Aboriginal identity and cultural heritage proudly resonates in my heart, soul and artistic creations,
spiritually connecting me to my country.
Australian Aboriginal arts and culture is an important part
of our evolutionary Dreamtime Journey in maintaining, preserving and promoting the
    diverse, spiritual
and sacred significance of our Aboriginal people.

    Aboriginal Australia's Dreamtime
The top of the coin represents the sky, where the sun can be seen shining. Below it is the earth or land, which is separated from the waves of the ocean below by the huge snake (a scrub python, which crawls on the ground, and is therefore closest to it). Set amidst these zones are the various creatures of the Dreamtime:
    Air Zone
    Australian Pelican
    Laughing Kookaburra
    Land Zone
    Emu
    Koala Bear
    Scrub Python
    Red Kangaroo
    Goanna Lizard
    Water Zone
    Humpback Whale
    Bottlenose Dolphin
    Hawksbill Sea Turtle
    Duck-Billed Platypus
    Barramundi Sea Bass
This huge silver proof is minted in ultra high relief, to more dramatically depict the variety of creatures that inhabit the Great Southern Continent. Struck from a HUGE five troy ounces of .999 pure silver, and spanning a massive 65 mm in diameter (nearly 3 inches!), this imposing coin represents spectacular tribute to native Australian culture and its respect for nature. Each coin is encapsulated and displayed in a highly polished, wooden presentation case accompanied by a full-color, numbered certificate! With a ridiculously low mintage of just 500 coins, these impressive gems are already sold out at the Mint!
