    Description

    SCARCE COLOFUL SOUTHERN
    DEPRESSION ERA CURRENCY!
This scarce 1933 25 Cent note was issued by Cumberland County in Fayetteville, North Carolina. It's almost 8" long and displays the famous Market House with its iconic clock tower.
During the Great Depression, it became necessary to issue scrip notes like this one due to the lack of currency which until that year was backed in gold or silver.
Impressive and colorful banknote! Only one on eBay!
