Description
Sharp Vintage QT-8D Electronic Desktop Calculator Micro Compet Rare and Fully Tested.Introduced in 1969, the same year Apollo went to the moon. It was one of the smallest electronic calculators produced commercially at that time. The first mass produced calculator has its logic circuitry entirely implemented with LSI integrated circuits (ICs) based on MOS technology. The display is a vacuum florescent display, the first ever used in a production calculator. Unique fonts and digital green colors also were attracting attention.
It is one of the historical heritage of electronic devices.

It features its original grey power cord, yet has no dust cover, instruction manual or box. It has been tested and is fully functional. It belonged to my Dad who rarely used it as he believed in old school math-pencil on paper. It was safely kept in his home office desk drawer and is in perfect condition!
Its retail price in 1970 was 5...equivalent to about ,790 in 2021.
It's also a very fast calculator. Dividing 99999999 by 1, which is the worst case for the simple long division method used on many calculators takes roughly 200 milliseconds and addition and subtraction are literally instantaneous.
