This unique urn pendant features alternating pieces of genuine Paua shell and 925 hand-worked sterling silver with a beautiful oval red garnet on the front. The rich reds of the genuine gemstone pick up on the other colors for a very unique piece. Garnet is January's birthstone and is known for its healing and purifying properties.
Each Paua shell possesses its own, one-of-a-kind unique markings and colors of iridescent blues and greens. Paua shells are found exclusively in New Zealand, and are a species of abalone but with more intense colors.
Because of the iridescent rainbow of colors found in these shells, they are sometimes referred to as “Sea Opal” or “Marine Opal”. The natural colors of paua shell range from greens and pinks, to purples and blues, with gold or crimson tones.
While we do our best to capture the unique beauty of our garnet and natural paua shell urn necklace, keep in mind that colors can vary slightly due to the color calibration of individual monitors.
Our garnet and paua shell cremation urn measures approx. 1 & 1/2" long (from the top of the bail by 1/4" wide. The inner chamber is approx. 3/4” deep and has space to hold human or pet cremation ashes, beach sand, Sacred Earth or dried ceremonial flowers, keeping them close to you… always.
The top of the urn turns to open and is also intricately worked – a beautiful finishing touch to this lovely piece of human or pet ashes keepsake jewelry. The urn also comes with a small plastic bag you can use to hold the keepsakes safely inside.
