U.S. Seal PS-100 Pool Spa Pump Motor Shaft Seal PS100
Seal failure is generally a result of the pump running dry due to lack of water in the pump. It's usually due to either a loose or damaged pump lid o-ring, plumbing leaks, Loose inlet/outlet plumbing pipes & unions/o-rings on pump, pump sealing o-rings or low water levels in the pool or spa which can cause cavitation within the pump trap. The principal cause of motor going bad is water leaking from the the wet end of the pump, back into the motor or electrical end. The purpose of the seal is to prevent this from occurring.  Always replace the pump seal w
hen replacing any pump parts such as the volute, seal plate, flange, bracket and Impeller or any related O-rings on the pump. Inspect all related pump parts and relplace if damaged. Always replace the seal on a new Motor, failure to do so can void the manufactures warranty.
