VINTAGE HP-75D Programmable BASIC Pocket Computer with A/C Supply
You are bidding on a vintage HP-75D programmable BASIC pocket computer in working and good used condition! The firmware version is DDDDDD. The unit has the internal 16K RAM--the MEM command displays 14271 (bytes available for user). The unit has a built-in HP-IL module and a connector for a special wand used with the 75D (wand NOT included). The unit was used by AT&T. I tested the unit with an A/C power supply which IS included in the auction. The battery cover is missing and that is why I am including an A/C (with U.S. prongs) to make sure you can operate the computer when you receive it.
The auction includes a jump drive which contains the PDF files for the Owner's Manual, several Games solutions manuals, and three Math solution manuals.
******* PLEASE READ *****  Regarding the LCD display, it seems that the HP-75D's LCD is a bit different from that of the 75C. If you look perpendicularly down on the LCD the display is faint. You need to look at the display from a 45 degree angle and it looks fine. I checked with the hp museum web site and it seems a "feature" of the LCD display for the HP-75D model. You cannot alter the contrast using any keyboard key combination. The recommendation I received from a member of the hp museum web site is "
You have to open-up the 75 and manually adjust the LCD contrast with the potentiometer on the memory board. Ref: PPC Computer Journal v2n5 Sept/Oct 83 Page 23, potentiometer VR at the top/right of figure 1".
