    Description

    Vintage Japanese Tanuki Raccoon Dog Rare Vase
    Measures approx. 5" tall and 4" in diameter at widest part of base.
    Minimal wear, there is a tiny spot where glaze missed (see pix) on backside
    Shigaraki ware is one of the six oldest kilns in Japan and is produced mainly in Shigaraki, Koga City, Shiga Prefecture.
    Tanuki(raccoon dog) has long been regarded as a good luck charm, as it is associated with "surpassing others" and "fat stomach (belly drum)".
