This is a VINTAGE 1970s PAIR of OWL BOOKENDS by NORLEANS JAPAN. Made of lightweight ceramic, each is meant to be filled with sand to add the weight necessary to hold up books. The bookends’ STOPPERS ARE INTACT! Owl motifs were very popular during the Seventies (I was there!) and these are painted in the green, brown and orange colors seen everywhere nearly 50 years ago. They’re in VERY GOOD, CLEAN CONDITION and will make a great addition to your retro decor!
IMPORTANT
:
The only chip on either bookend is on the lower front of the left owl’s side edge. It’s been retouched and is unnoticeable. Please see the last photo - it’s actually NOT bright purple as it photographed.
